Mission Fed Leader Appointed to San Diego Center for Children Board of Directors

Press Releases

For Immediate Release

SAN DIEGO, December 15, 2022 – Mission Fed Credit Union, the largest member-owned, not-for-profit, full-service financial institution exclusively serving San Diego County, and the San Diego Center for Children announced that Mission Fed’s Chief Lending Officer (CLO) Vince Nowicki has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Center.

“Community is everything to us at Mission Fed and the causes we support map the needs of our community,” said Nowicki. “I’m also personally vested in causes for our children, particularly what the Center is doing to protect the joy of childhood and help solve our mental health crisis for youth in need.”

The San Diego Center for Children is the leading non-profit children’s mental health care provider in the San Diego region dedicated to improving the lives of children and families through nationally accredited mental health care and educational services. The Center provides a hopeful path for a better future to thousands of families every year.

“We are thankful and grateful to Vince and Mission Fed,” said Dr. Moisés Barón, President & CEO of the Center for Children. “Without dedicated community partners, the Center would not be able to realize our vision of creating a comprehensive continuum of mental health services that ranges from prevention, collaborative care and outpatient services, to school and community-based services, intensive individual and family-centered treatments, to residential care.”

Nowicki has over 28 years of lending management experience and has worked for Mission Fed for more than 11 years. He was promoted to CLO in 2021. Under Nowicki’s leadership, Mission Fed’s real estate department has seen incredible growth, setting records in loan volume in 2020, originating 3,595 loans for $1.1 billion, and funding $322 million in new home purchases. In addition to real estate lending, Nowicki is also responsible for the credit union’s Consumer and Indirect Lending Departments, which includes all auto lending, as well as providing leadership with Mission Fed’s insurance and escrow divisions.

Nowicki resides in Valley Center with his wife and two daughters. They enjoy travel, especially road trips, and are huge fans of anything Disney related.
