SAN DIEGO, Oct. 20, 2022 – Mission Fed Credit Union, the largest member-owned, not-for-profit, full-service financial institution exclusively serving San Diego County, has officially opened its 34th branch site, located at 1170 Broadway Street, Ste. 110, Chula Vista, CA 91911.

“We’re proud to continue to better serve our South County members with this location, and happily greeting new members as well,” said Randy Tindell, 1st Vice President, Branch Network at Mission Fed.

In celebration of the new branch, and true to Mission Fed’s commitment to the community, Mission Fed leadership presented SBCS (formerly South Bay Community Services) with a $1,000 donation. The donation will support SBCS’ Chula Vista Promise Neighborhood program which provides a wide range of help to children, youth, and families in the community including academic help from preschool through college, mental health education, and even food assistance.

“We’re grateful for this donation from Mission Fed which will be invested directly into the success of our community members,” said Kathryn Lembo, President & CEO of SBCS.

Tindell added, “Giving back to the communities we all live and work in is our favorite thing to do at Mission Fed. SBCS is an amazing organization and we’re proud to help support this unique program.”

The new branch is led by longtime Chula Vista resident and 16-year veteran of Mission Fed, Mr. Marko Ramirez, Assistant Vice President – Branch Manager. Ramirez was born in Chula Vista, and attended elementary school, middle school and high school in the area.

“I love our community and try to be involved in anything I can, especially doing financial literacy presentations to schools, non-profits and local businesses,” said Ramirez. He is also very involved through his three children (ages 17, 14 and 8). Ramirez also serves the local community as an assistant coach to Olympian High School’s wrestling team and conditioning coach to his oldest son’s soccer team. He enjoys running marathons and traveling with his family and friends.

Like all Mission Fed locations, the Chula Vista branch offers friendly, helpful and experienced representatives to serve members and assist with important financial needs. The organization offers a full line of financial services. The Mission Fed Chula Vista branch is open Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visit missionfed.com for more information.

Mission Fed also recently received the Juntos Avanzamos designation for credit unions committed to serving and empowering Hispanic and immigrant consumers, another important reason for Mission Fed’s newest branch to be located in Chula Vista. Juntos Avanzamos translates to “Together We Advance” and helps people navigate the financial system, providing safe, affordable and relevant financial services. Mission Fed is the first San Diego-based credit union to have the accolade.
