Serving Our Hispanic Community

As a community credit union, Mission Fed is much more than just a financial institution. We are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our members, our employees and our community. This community focus includes our Hispanic neighbors with the goal of fostering economic inclusion and supporting financial well-being for all San Diegans.

Grassroots Relationships

A key focal point of our Hispanic engagement is developing strong partnerships in the community. Our cultivation of grassroots relationships has provided us the opportunity to introduce the credit union difference and our investment in relationships continues to have impacts across our region, including:

The Federation logo

Chicano Federation of San Diego: funding for programs that promote Latino advocacy, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.

MANA logo

MANA de San Diego: in-kind media support of Latina Success Program focuses on Latina professional and personal growth, leadership development, effective communications, and increasing civic engagement.

Celebrando Latinas logo

Celebrando Latinas: sponsor of the largest Spanish conference for women, providing women with financial wellness and health workshops

MAAC logo

MAAC: grant funding of financial literacy training to low-income, Latinx youth ages 18-24 in high-poverty areas of South County.

Juntos Avanzamos (Together We Advance) Designation

Juntos Avanzamos Logo

As a result of our historical and ongoing commitment to serving and empowering Hispanic consumers, Mission Fed became the first credit union in San Diego County to receive the Juntos Avanzamos Designation. The Juntos Avanzamos Designation, translating to “Together We Advance,” is a testament to credit unions that have a vision and commitment to serving the Hispanic Community by providing financial services and asset-building opportunities. Mission Fed joins approximately 129 credit unions nationwide that are part of the Juntos Avanzamos financial inclusion movement.

To earn the Juntos Avanzamos Designation, Mission Fed completed an extensive application process, requiring information and details about products and services offered to specifically address the needs of the Hispanic market, including what strategies are being utilized and the key community partnerships the organization has within the demographic.
