Winning the BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics–A Mission Fed Moment

March 10, 2016 | Randy Tindell

We’re honored to accept the 2015 BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics, category 250-499 employees, from the Better Business Bureau® of San Diego, Orange and Imperial Counties. The award recognizes Mission Fed for its strong commitment to integrity, customer service and community involvement. Providing excellent service has been a guiding principle since we were founded in 1961. This recognition is not only an honor, but a reflection of our mission to provide exceptional service to our members while giving back to the San Diego community and nonprofits.

To receive a Better Business Bureau (BBB) Torch Award, a company has to be in good standing with the BBB and serve the San Diego, Orange County and/or Imperial County markets. Mission Fed has been an accredited member of the BBB since our inception in 1961 with a commitment to business ethics. The BBB established the Torch Award to advance their vision of creating an ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers can trust each other. The BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics speaks to the integrity of our membership, employees, community partners and volunteer Board of Directors.

Credit unions came into existence to provide an ethical, local, customer-focused alternative to big banks to meet member financial needs. Mission Fed continues the credit union focus by building successful financial moments with members through ethical business practices, competitive products and services and community support. We like to call these moments of success, such as buying your first home, opening an account for your children or enjoying a Mission Fed sponsored event a “Mission Fed Moment.” A Mission Fed Moment is a moment that’s important to you and has the power to impact your life for the better. For us, winning the 2015 Better Business Bureau Torch Award in Marketplace Ethics is a Mission Fed Moment we can proudly share with our members.

The Mission Fed employee and member dynamic is vital to our mission, culture and success. When you bank with Mission Fed, you invest in a company located in your neighborhood and that gives back to the San Diego community. As Mission Fed VP Branch Network Manager, I am very proud to be part of an organization that, no matter how much we grow, continues to focus on traditional credit union values and believes in employee development, training and growth, providing members with exceptional service and product knowledge.

As a Mission Fed employee of 23 years, I could not be prouder of Mission Fed and more excited to continue to carry the torch for integrity, customer service and community involvement in 2016! There’s never been a better time to be part of Mission Fed with all that we are, aspire to be and deliver to our members, community and local nonprofits. Your success is our bottom line, and that’s why all San Diegans are welcome! Let’s make more Mission Fed Moments together.

Every Mission Fed member, employee, volunteer Board Member and education and community partner shares in this award. Congratulations and thank you for choosing Mission Fed!
