Why we're involved with Mission Federal ArtWalk
We at Mission Federal Credit Union believe that art has the power to connect communities, cultivate new artistic talent and create a better quality of life for all through cultural enrichment. That’s why, for the seventh consecutive year, Mission Fed is honored to be the title sponsor of Mission Federal ArtWalk.
Mission Federal Artwalk in Little Italy is the city’s first outdoor fine arts festival, which will celebrate its 31st anniversary this year and will run from Saturday, April 25 to Sunday, April 26 from 11am - 6pm. The event features over 350 fine artists from San Diego, the US and Mexico. Mission Federal ArtWalk will feature collectible and approachable art from all kinds of media, such as drawings, jewelry, sculptures, paintings, photography, metal work, wood work and much more. More than a celebration of visual art, the festival offers a full lineup of live music, dance and interactive art activities for families at KidsWalk. The event fills 15 blocks of Little Italy, and admission is free.
Through Mission Federal Artwalk, we raise funds for ArtReach San Diego, the nonprofit partner of ArtWalk San Diego that was introduced in 2007 to bring visual arts education to K-6 schools countywide, focusing on schools with no resources for art education. Programs are taught by professional artists and art teachers who believe that all students need art in their classrooms. The program will serve more than 15 schools this year.
While in Little Italy, please stop in Saturday, April 25 and say hello to the wonderful team at our Little Italy Branch at 1370 India Street. At any branch or at our booth during the event, make sure to enter a drawing for two original pieces of artwork by featured artists Dorothee Naumburg and Scott Palmer. And a quick reminder: you can avoid parking issues by taking the GREEN LINE to the County Center/Little Italy stop. Also, there are two free shuttles—one from the north end from Kettner and Laurel and another from the south end from the Pacific Coast Highway and Broadway.
