Mission Federal Credit Union is pleased to partner with the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park to present Kids Free in October! Throughout the month of October, kids 11 and under are free at the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park. Kids Free in October features special weekend activities like African Treasure Hunts and Keeper Talks where you can hear stories and information about specific animals. And don’t forget about special Halloween fun during HalGLOWeen at the San Diego Zoo!

Also free in October is the San Diego Museum Council’s Kids Free in October where you can find 43 San Diego museums with free admission for children 12 and under with a paying adult. Mission Fed is proud to sponsor this event and we hope that all members of our community are able to learn, enjoy and experience new things by visiting museums throughout the county. Stop by any Mission Fed branch to pick up a printed Kids Free in October coupon to get two free kids’ admissions for each paid adult admission at participating museums. You can explore the San Diego Air and Space Museum, the Japanese Friendship Garden, the Women’s Museum of California and much more. See a list of participating museums and plan your visit!

If you’re excited about San Diego fall events that get to the heart of the season, check out the The Boulevard Boo! Parade on Saturday, October 28 and enjoy San Diego’s only Halloween parade! Featuring floats, characters in costume, music and more, it’s sure to delight attendees of all ages. The Parade begins at the intersection of El Cajon Boulevard & Rolando Boulevard and travel WEST to 60th Street. Don’t miss the 22nd Annual Día de los Muertos Festival on Wednesday, November 1, where you can enjoy live music, traditional Mexican cuisine, art, ballet folklórico and more at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. Decorate sugar skulls and learn about how this holiday honors lost loved ones. Ready to immerse yourself in art and culture? Join in the fun with Julian Melodrama with shows available October 20 – 28, the play and variety show where audience participation is encouraged! Learn something new and enjoy California’s American Indian & Indigenous Film Festival November 2 - 4 where your family can enjoy films by American Indian filmmakers, directors, producers and actors and learn about Native American culture at CSU San Marcos.
