The Benefits of Expansion—30 Branches and Counting

May 13, 2016 | Mission Fed

Over the past 55 years, Mission Fed has continually expanded our ability to serve the San Diego community. We now have 30 convenient branches in San Diego County, making Mission Fed an even more attractive financial service provider for all San Diegans.

Just as our physical reach has expanded, our membership has grown over the years from the educational community to serve the entire San Diego community. Mission Fed is the largest locally based financial institution exclusively serving San Diego County, and our expansion allows us to better serve our members in the following ways:

A Mission Fed Branch wherever you go

San Diego County is a collective of many communities. As a San Diegan myself, I know that many of us travel throughout the county. Let’s say you live in Santee, commute to work in Sorrento Valley and have dinner and meetings all over San Diego, in neighborhoods like Solana Beach and Little Italy. The good news is that no matter where you go, there is a Mission Fed branch nearby at every step of your commute.

From our Oceanside Branch in the north to the Imperial Beach / South Bay Branch at the southern end of the county and with many branches in-between, there is a local Mission Federal Credit Union location for you to visit. Our members also have access to over 30,000 fee free Co-Op ATMs throughout the U.S. and Canada, so Mission Fed can be with you on your Southern California day trips or your coast-to-coast getaways.

Consistently expanding services for our members

Growth comes in many forms, and with 30 branches, we’re able to give you more flexibility to open, apply for and manage your Checking and Savings Accounts, Credit Card, Auto Loan, Home Loan and more. The benefits don’t stop there—you can schedule an appointment with an Autoland consultant at your local Mission Fed Branch to discuss car-buying options that may save you time and money. In fact, if you purchase a new or preowned car through Autoland, you can choose to have the car delivered to your local branch. Use Autoland for your next car purchase and let them do the work for you.

We’ve also added Member Education resources and continually update our Live Smart. Bank Smart blog with financial education topics ranging from products and services to developing smart financial habits. Plus, our Community Development initiatives support Mission Fed members and the San Diego community by offering financial education through Mission for Our Schools, giving back to the community through Mission for Nonprofits and sponsorship of local events. For us at Mission Fed, growing physically and technologically is a natural progression of fulfilling our mission to meet our members’ needs.

Technological growth makes your life easier

Wherever you are, you can take advantage of your Mission Fed membership. Much of our members’ banking and financial management happens outside of our branches via Online Banking and Mobile Banking with Mobile Deposit to manage accounts.

Credit Card and Debit Card users have access to mobile payment options including Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, Online Bill Pay and our Zelle® service where you can send and receive money from friends. We are available for customer service wherever you are through WebChat and Email Customer Service.

From humble beginnings, a growing future

Mission Fed began at a borrowed desk at the San Diego Office of Education with twelve members in 1961. As we’ve grown, we have helped many members achieve what we like to call “Mission Fed Moments”—important financial milestones like buying a home, getting a car or opening an account for their children. With 30 branches and an ever-expanding array of services, we are able to deliver more and more Mission Fed Moments.

We invite you to locate your closest Mission Fed Branch and come see us for any of your financial service needs. Being a Mission Fed member benefits you with low loan rate, giving back to the community, exceptional customer service, online account management and convenient branch locations throughout the county.
