San Diego, November 20, 2022 – Mission Fed Credit Union, San Diego’s largest member-owned, not-for-profit, full-service financial institution exclusively serving San Diego County, has been named on the 2022 Top Workplaces list by The San Diego Union-Tribune. The credit union also received the “Crystal Clear” award, and garnered Spotlight Awards in the following categories: Women-Led, Employee Appreciation and Professional Development.

The recognition celebrates the best work environments in the region and is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey conducted by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to the success of any organization including alignment, execution, and connection. This is the 10th year of the Top Workplaces awards.

Mission Fed ranked high in the Large Companies category. This is the second time Mission Fed has received the Top Workplaces award. The Crystal Clear award is an honor for the organization, as it represents employees feeling well-informed about important decisions.

Debra Schwartz, President and CEO of Mission Fed Credit Union, said, “On behalf of the entire Mission Fed team, we are deeply honored to receive this recognition once again. Mission Fed employees have great pride in their credit union, and we’re always proud it shows in these important surveys. Our employees are happy – and it’s directly correlated to why our members are too.”

The 24-question employee engagement survey gathers responses regarding issues relating to workplace culture: Alignment – where the company is headed, its values, cooperation, effective meetings; Coaching – managers care about concerns, are helpful, encourage employee development; Connection – employees feel appreciated, work is meaningful, working at full potential, feel informed; Engagement – productivity, retention, recruiting; Leadership – confidence in company leaders; Performance – execution, open-mindedness, innovation, clued-in leadership; The Basics – pay, benefits, work/life flexibility, training, expectations. Employers that score high enough are recognized as Top Workplaces. Employers are ranked within size groups to accurately compare results. Energage also determines special award winners based on standout scores on specific survey topics.
