WHAT: Battle of the Clubs, sponsored by Mission Fed Credit Union, is a golf competition among the foremost golf clubs in San Diego to find out which club has the best golfers. The event will feature a highly competitive team-play format where trophies and prizes will be awarded.

“We have the best golf clubs in San Diego County coming together to play golf and raise awareness for homelessness,” said Donnie Dee, CEO of the San Diego Rescue Mission. “What a blessing to see our community use their influence to help change the state of homelessness in our city.”

WHO: Fourteen golf country clubs will gather to raise funds for the San Diego Rescue Mission, a nonprofit organization that works to transform the lives of those experiencing homelessness, impacting San Diego, one life at a time.

Participating country clubs include:

  • The Grand
  • La Jolla Country Club
  • Lomas Santa Fe Country Club
  • The Crosby Club
  • Shadowridge Golf Club

“The Crosby Club staff and members are excited about competing in this golf event and we hope it will bring some attention to our city’s #1 issue.  We want to be a part of changing homelessness in San Diego,” said Bryan Addis, PGA, General Manager at The Crosby Club.

Steve Wilson, Director of Golf at The Bridges club shares, “We all know there are people in this country less fortunate and who are really struggling in life.  Battle of the Clubs is an event that sheds some light on the homeless problem and The Bridges is happy to participate.”

WHY: San Diego is the 8th largest city in the U.S., but the 4th largest for homelessness—San Diego’s #1 issue. Each night, over 20,000 of our neighbors are without a place to call home. This event will help renew awareness about homelessness in San Diego among our county’s top golf community through a competition that benefits our homeless and hungry neighbors. Proceeds raised from the event will benefit the San Diego Rescue Mission.
