Teen Accounts Built for Ages 13–17
Getting started early builds confidence—and good habits. We’ve designed flexible options for students ages 13–17 that grow with them, with the right guidance at every step.
For Ages 13–15:
To open a Spending or Checking account, visit any Mission Fed branch with:
- Social Security Number
- One of the following: Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, School ID, or Government-issued ID
A parent or guardian who will be on the account with a valid photo ID and Social Security Number.
For Ages 16–17:
You can open an account:
- On your own with valid government-issued photo ID
OR
- With a parent or guardian who has valid photo ID

Accounts subject to approval; terms and conditions apply. Offer is available 7/1/25 – 12/31/25 for existing partners of Mission 4 Non-Profits or Mission Money Advantage. New member must open a Mission Fed Spending, Checking or Savings account and “Way to Save” program must be mentioned at account opening. New member, not on a Mission Fed Spending or Checking within the last 12 months; must be age 13 or older to open a Mission Fed Spending or Checking Account, must be primary member, and account must be opened jointly with a parent/legal guardian. If ages 16 or 17, no parent/legal guardian required.
For new members, $50 will be deposited after a Spending, Checking or Savings account is opened and funded with a $5 opening deposit. Current members with an existing Savings account who meet the Way to Save program requirements are eligible to receive $25 when opening a Spending or Checking account; these members are not eligible to receive the $50 deposit. The Annual Percentage Yield (APY) on a Savings Account is 0.03% as of 7/1/25; fees could reduce earnings. Recipients are responsible for all taxes; amounts are reported to the appropriate agencies as required by law. May not be used in conjunction with other promotional offers and is non-transferable.
